Destination

of the month

The destination that inspired us to start writing food tours! Cartagena’s cuisine is vibrant, flavourful, and deeply tied to its history and coastal setting. Modern restaurants build on traditional flavors, presenting them in creative, contemporary ways that highlight local seafood, tropical fruits, and native spices.

Street food, however, is where Cartagena truly comes alive. On plazas, beaches, and street corners, vendors sell their freshly made treats. Perhaps the most iconic street presence is the palenquera women in brightly colored dresses balancing bowls of fresh tropical fruit on their heads.

Eating in Cartagena, whether at a street stall or a modern restaurant, is a feast for the senses and a celebration of the city’s rich culinary heritage.
